St Mary's Church

In the depths of the Oxfordshire countryside, well off the beaten track, are numerous tiny villages. A great many of them can proudly boast of their very own ancient little church.

On a recent aimless drive, putting a few miles and familiarity on my new car, I came across this one, St Mary's Church, Childrey. It was a cold, damp and drippy day, with that very fine rain that soaks into your very bones, but that didn't stop me stopping off to photograph graveyards, one of my passions. It's early February, and there are snowdrops everywhere. I present a handful of pictures of its graveyard herewith, all of which speak for themselves, requiring no additional comment from me.
